We like it crazy...it is certain. So far this tour has been loaded with the utmost craziness. Houston show got canceled due to the pre-Rita freak out. We didn't mind hanging in one of our favorite places, austin, for some extra chill time.
Had a blast playing ACL and got to ride around in golf carts, see some great bands, clifford the red dog in person, and even got one of those texas straw cowboy hats in order to blend in but keep myself pale. After our dj set at Factory People and our free, stylin clothes we left austin thinking we may just have to move there.
All the shows have been jumping off and the people coming out have really made us have more fun than ever playing. We've been cranking out a bunch of new songs every night and so far the response is positive to the Like U Crazy line-up.
In madison, we had a stage full of dancers and a couple who met at one of our shows did some two-stepping.
On the way to champaign/urbana we collided with debris from a blown out semi tire and fender. Jason swerved just enough to keep Torkel alive even though he did end up with a lap full of glass. Our mirror, antennae and windshield all needed replacing but we all escaped shaken but without scrapes. Scary.
At the minneapolis show we encounted the mates/ida flood of 2005 as a busted water main flooded the club. The best thing about it: people stood in the water and we finished the show while the club workers and jason's brother scrambled around with mops. People even danced in the water.
We spent the last few days hanging with jason's family and magnolia has been busy with her cousins, finding peoples' belly buttons and making bird noises.
We're loving hearing one of our all time favs, ida every night. Jason and I used to listen and sing every word to "I know about you" and they've been keeping us happy playing some older tracks along with their fantastic new record's songs.
Keeping it real out here.

Cryptic messages from the road:
We are all intelligent monkeys. Some of us have been inflicted. Some of us watch the talking horse. Some of us wonder how the baby's sleeping. Some of us (s)mile. Those do better this time around. Some of us are learning to get what we want without true words. Who's Greg? Some of us like porkchops. Some like the pizza. Who invited redbull and who's gettin' fired? You can always find a perv. We're loners in the high school cafeteria. Bill and Schweiber at your service. Win the gold with a pair of scissors. Not sorry about sweater hole preventers. There's a Mr. Biz in every circle and they all agree. Leave the bombs behind, don't sit by the crack. That's what we are. That's what's going down. 30 more songs for the pitchers from the dodgers. This world is our play thing. Hereiosly. Hum on Himi it.
Kori and Jason inside.

Ahhh California
Every time we come back here we can't believe we ever left. With our new sunburns, mongolian bbq in our tummies, quality hang outs with old friends and this familiar drive to the best city in the world, we are happier than ever right now. I guess we can forgive the lame teenage angst ridden boys at the show in Tuscon who had never seen a girl in a rock band before and had to yell out about tits during our set. It was to be expected that we would get things thrown at us at some point on this tour. The funny thing is, we think it's great to be the underdog...despite the few lame-os. We're having an incredibly fufilling tour. At the same show that we got flipped off by meatheads, there were so many young girls that came up and thanked us for bringing something different to their ears that it made it all worth it. Some guys also let us know that we're welcome back any time. And some people even traveled a couple hours for our set.
Billy Idol had the best quote of the night, You guys all want something to scream about!? Then he proceeded to remove his shirt to show off his well manicured physique. I saw some girls showing their ta-tas to the boys in some of the bands too. I felt like I had fallen into some sort of time travel. But then my mom, Mags and I flew out of a sunset Tuscon and into a clear dark night in California to celebrate my first Mother's Day as a mom. I got a rose from my baby and bought my mom some tour slippers. San Francisco awaits.

Reno
Like the classy woman said, our first show in a hockey rink was quite interesting and actually pretty fun. Our dressing room was in the visiting team's locker room, so we hung up our cleats and took several community showers. It's hard to see very far into the crowd so we just close our eyes and pretend we're in the basement. The songs are feeling real good and the Jimmy Eat World dudes are treating us like royalty. Magpie lost all her allowance in Elko, NV playing Hold'em with a bunch of locals. As a team though we were up. Reno wasn't as generous, but Vegas will be. She's a craps maven. This world is our plaything.

Our first arena show:
Right before we went on we saw someone screaming at us from the stands with his girlfriend and his homemade I love MOS t-shirt on. That totally made us feel like we were welcome. At arena shows it's so dark that you can't see the people out there so you don't get nervous. We felt good about the set. The new songs are finally sounding natural and the other few songs we played felt tight, maybe because of just getting back from Europe. We have dubbed ourselves: the rock star and the bum due to some behind the scenes antics. Give me a couch and give Jason a mirror and some wine and we feel at home anywhere. This time around we are traveling with more women than men for once. Sarah, tour manager/merch/all around workhorse, nannygranny, baby girl and the two of us. It still doesn't balance out the many men around with TBS and JEW and crew but we're happy to try our best to mix it up. Today we passed the salt lake and then beautiful mountains creating their mirror image in the water below. Makes you want to hike to the top and look at your reflection from way up there. Mother's Day is coming. Don't forget. Nobody loves you like your mom.
